Yoga, Stress and Anxiety

This morning was rough. My anxiety was controlling every thought and feeling I had. I had a panic attack before a job interview. It felt like everything was falling apart and I would fail. The only thing that came to mind was, START YOGA EARLIER. If I started it earlier than this feeling of dread would be lifted sooner.
I decided to search Yoga with Adriene  videos this morning and I am so glad I did. I found a wonderful routine made just for stress and anxiety! Could this be? Could I actually find some peace with this specific video? The answer to both are YES.

Once starting this video she quickly tells you that the hard part is over, bringing your mat out. Isn’t that the truth? The poses are done slowly and she even shows you how to do a relaxing nostril breathing. I had never heard of this way of breathing and really enjoyed it. There were a few poses that were difficult but that is ok, I am a beginner and yoga is not about being perfect.

It made me feel relaxed, centered and in control of my emotions. I was able to let go of my stresses and focus solely on my body and yoga mat. Feeling the mat beneath my feet, feeling the gravity of my hips and shoulders. I remember thinking during my routine, “Wow, this is actually calming me down.” It really was a wonderful routine to destress. I plan to use this video over and over again when I am feeling panic.

Enjoy the video!

    1. I love it. Its super relaxing and doesnt push your too much. All it takes is 10 minutes every couple days and you are an official yogi!
